How to choose a Kingdee Cloud Galaxy implementation partner? Look at these 6 hard metrics

Choosing a Kingdee implementation partner and choosing the software are two different things. The software is a standardized product; the partner is not. To judge whether a Kingdee implementation partner is reliable, don’t look at how polished their website is or how many years of experience they claim—look at 6 verifiable hard metrics: local team, number of cases, industry fit, customization capability, O&M response mechanism, and certification level. All 6 can be verified with hard evidence before signing; if they can’t produce it, you can basically rule them out.

Metric 1: Is there a local implementation team in Shanghai?

Kingdee Cloud Galaxy implementation is a highly interactive job; blueprint research, process discussion, and go-live support all require face-to-face interaction. Projects delivered purely remotely typically see their timeline stretched by over 30%, and issue response also lags.

Verification method: Ask directly, “Who are the on-site consultants, which office are they based in, and how many times per week do they visit during the project?” Request consultant names and résumés. If they can’t answer, or the consultants are based far away, be cautious.

Metric 2: Number of implementation cases, especially same-industry cases

The number of cases is the hardest to fake. Look at two figures: total number of go-live clients and number of same-industry clients. The total reflects proficiency; the same-industry count reflects the depth of understanding of your industry—cost accounting in manufacturing, integrated finance-tax-business in trading, and project accounting in project-based enterprises differ enormously.

Verification method: Request 2–3 comparable clients that can be followed up with; ask clearly which modules went live, how long they were used, and how many times rework occurred midway.

Metric 3: Industry fit, not product familiarity

A good implementation consultant can translate your business problems into system language, rather than just reciting system functions to you. The criterion is simple: when communicating, is he asking about your business processes, or talking about the function menu?

Red flag: Consultants who, before even looking at your documents and processes, start saying “we have a standard solution here.” A standard solution only solves standard problems, and yours usually aren’t standard.

Metric 4: Customization and integration capability

Kingdee Cloud Galaxy’s standard features don’t cover 100% of scenarios. Enterprises typically have three types of additional needs: industry-specific documents, integration with existing systems (MES/WMS/CRM/OA), and data exchange & reporting. All three depend on the implementer’s development capability, especially interface experience.

Verification method: Ask, “Which systems have you done Kingdee integrations with, what is the interface approach, and do you have reusable middleware?” Partners with self-developed middleware and standardized interface solutions will have more controllable delivery risk and pricing.

Metric 5: O&M response mechanism

Go-live is just the beginning; there are still 1–3 years of usage afterward. What really sets partners apart is the response when problems arise: is there a service desk, a response-time commitment, an on-site or regular inspection mechanism, and what is the issue escalation path?

Verification method: During the pre-sales phase, deliberately ask a small question (e.g., “How long does it usually take to resolve a month-end closing error?”) and watch the other party’s response speed and professionalism—pre-sales responsiveness is basically the ceiling of after-sales service.

Metric 6: Certification level and personnel accreditation

Kingdee has a tiered system for partners (star ratings, Platinum level, etc., differ), and accreditation levels for consultants. Certification is the vendor’s endorsement; the number of accredited consultants is the foundation of delivery capability.

Verification method: Request the Kingdee authorization certificate number, which can be verified through Kingdee’s official channels; also ask about the proportion of accredited consultants in the team.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Kingdee partners’ quotes vary widely—is more expensive always better? A: No. The price difference mainly comes from consultant day rates and the number of delivery days. A quote that is too low usually means blueprint and training time has been cut, and once that is cut, it will certainly come back later as rework after go-live.

Q: Can we go directly to Kingdee’s own (OEM) implementation team? A: Yes, but the OEM team focuses more on large clients and key industries; the scheduling and local response for small and mid-sized projects are usually less flexible than those of local partners. The actual choice for most growing enterprises is a “local certified partner.”

Q: We’ve already bought the software—can we switch implementation partners? A: Yes, but it’s recommended to switch before the blueprint phase ends. Once the blueprint is confirmed and configuration begins, the handover cost of changing teams rises significantly.
